The Company of Adventurers rehearses through the summer, with performances on the first three weekends following Labour Day in September. We are located in Old Ottawa South (Brewer Park area). Rehearsals are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 5:30-8:30, with some additional rehearsals in the production week prior to show time. Our shows are full-length productions (approx. 2 hours in length), and are performed on an outdoor stage on September weekends. All productions are in Shakespearean English using a slightly shortened version of the original script.
Each year, we present our shows as a fundraiser for a local charity (chosen by the group each year). In past years, we have raised money for the Ottawa Humane Society, the Ottawa Mission, the Somalia Relief Fund, the Ottawa Wild Bird Care Centre, the Terry Fox Foundation, the Ottawa women's shelter Harmony House, and the Ottawa Food Bank.
- Rehearsal schedule: Tues and Thurs, 5:30-8:30 pm
- Session dates: June 28 – Aug 31, 2016
- Show dates: to be announced (weekends in Sept. following Labour Day)
- Ages: 9-18 years
- Fee: $475.00
No prior acting experience is necessary, but we do require a serious commitment to attending
rehearsals and participating in productions. Producing a show of this length and quality requires hard work as a unified group, but it is worth it! Theatre is a confidence-building and group-bonding experience. It is rewarding to watch each actor grow personally and artistically as the production comes together. What we look for in actors is enthusiasm, good humour, respect for others, and a commitment to producing a great show!
